What's WIIFM?
No, WIIFM is not the new radio station in Chicago. It a technique
the internet marketing pro's use
to make a web site more profitable.
I'll go over the basics of it and then you can look at your website and
see how you
can apply WIIFM to increase your conversions and revenue.
Before I get into WIIFM, I want you to know that on the average 65% of
visitors
will leave your site your site either on the homepage or the page they
hit
immediately after the homepage.
That is why its important have a strategic internet marketing plan designed to grab your visitors attention, assuring them
they are
in the right place, and that there is no need to leave your site. In
marketing
this is called using WIIFM, which stands for What's In It For Me, (Me
meaning
the person visiting your site).
You know and probably list all of the features of what you promote on
your site
but the visitor is after a benefit, not a feature. Let me explain to you
what I
mean by this. When you go to a hardware store to buy a drill, you're not
buying
it because you need a drill, you're buying it because you need a hole.
The same thing goes on your site. You need to let the visitor know that
you
provide the benefit they are looking for.
You're website viewer wants to know what's in it for them at your site.
They
don't care how great your company is, or how long your have been in
business, or
that you have won numerous awards. They want to know what benefit they
will get
by buying your product or service.
